I am attempting to create a blog with the hope that when we move to California, I can keep all of our friends and Family up dated on our adventures and daily life. Please bare with me as I try to learn the ways of this high tech society we are now in and try to create what is known as a blog. So with that being said, my journey begins...

Here's the rest of the house...

Okay, here's the lay out of our house. You walk in through the main door, to your right is the kitchen, through the kitchen is the dining room ,then you turn left and there's the living room. When you enter the living room, you walk down the hall way and to the right is Isaa'c room, next is kaila's room, and my room, then Alyssa's room. Then you follow the square and there's the two bathrooms. Now if you go straight through the hallway your run right into Isaac's room, then all the other bedrooms. It's an easy layout, but kinda hard to describe accuratly. So heres the rest of the house.

Another strike against CA

Here's what 171 dollars looks like. So deserved or not, I got a $171 ticket today!! For what? "Rolling" through a stop sign. Gotta say, CALIFORNIA, do you have enough stop signs here? Holy heck, it's like a stop sign on every corner. EVERY corner. Do they not believe in traffic lights, or I don't know... not congesting everything to one spot so that you have to stop every 5 feet? What the heck is up with these huge ticket costs too? I've only ever gotten one other ticket in my whole driving life, and that was cheap compared to here. Here they seem to be accustomed to a certain life style, known as the Rich and uniformed officers. They drive suv's for heavens sakes. Who drives suv's to chase criminals? Have they not seen the cost of gas? I guess with ticket prices this astronomical, cost of tickets go to support their life style. Ben is definitely in the wrong profession. Who evers on the receiving end of the money is rich. (In case your reading this and maybe don't get my sense of humor, I mean this to be sarcastic and funny. I mean every word of it, but I don't dispute the ticket.) I didn't stop completely. I roll to a stop, almost come to a complete stop and then go if there's no cars. Lesson learned. Expensive lesson, but it's learned. Thanks California cops. Enjoy my hard earned money. A special shout out to Officer Davis, without whom, this particular rant wouldn't of been possible.

YA!!

I have to say that I'm so relieved that Prop 8 passed. It was one of the biggest reasons that I wanted to register to vote here. I've gotten alot of slack about wanting to vote that way, but it was worth it. I don't want my children to be taught in our schools beliefs that go completly against all I believe in. I am so thankful that it passed and it's no longer a worry to carry around. We're getting settled in here well. Kaila really likes her new school. When asked how it's going she says, "it's AWESOME!" She really likes her teacher too. She was never this excited about school in Utah, so its a blessing. Isaac still isn't in school and that's been rough, but we found a free reading time at the library for him once a week. They read to the kids and then do a craft. There's also one I can do on Friday with Alyssa. The nice thing is they can both go to each others. Ben is doing well as school. He's already speaking the language and passing the tests. I think the stress is easing off a bit. He makes it all look so easy. I'm amazed at how quickly things seem to come to him. It's not fare for people like me who have to work really, really hard to get good grades. He's really doing well and I'm proud of him. That's about all of the update on our family so far. I'd love to hear from any of you reading this. Get in touch sometime. I could use some friends. Love, Yolanda

Finally...the inside of our house...

Okay, so I've been asked to show the inside of our house too. So here's some pictures of our living room/dining room. Our bedroom and the hall. When I get the kids rooms organized and the kitchen clean I'll add those too. Now you can see where I live inside and out.

More on Saturday's adventure

You would think Alyssa was too young to have a good time, but she was laughing at things and watching things so intently. Its amazing to see how much she takes in. We were playing with some pretend eels, if you pulled them they pulled back into their hole in the rock. Alyssa thought that was the funniest thing. She'd grab and pull and then laugh when it pulled back into the hole. I got video of it, but couldn't get it on. Then we went to the penguins and put the kids in a bubble type thing where they could get a close up look. Alyssa laughed and laughed. She thought it was great. She's only 5 months old and got a kick out of all the excitement. Oh,I forgot to mention the jelly fish. There were so many different kinds. Oh, and we learned if the water is green, it's full of life. Life you can only see under a microscope. EW, that means I'm only going in if it's beautiful blue. Just a little info if any of you plan on going to the beach. Here's more pics of our aquarium adventure...

Our Saturday Adventure

Yesterday we went to the library to see if we could get the aquarium passes. We DID IT! We got two passes. So we went to the aquarium and it was such a blast. The kids got to pet sting rays, touch star fish, look at sharks and stand under a wave and see how it looks. It was the funnest thing, Alyssa was looking up when the wave came over us and she closed her eyes and braced for the impact. When nothing hit us she opened her eyes up in complete surprise. She had an audience and made them all laugh. It was so precious. After the aquarium we decided that we were hungry. Ben thought it would be interesting if we tried a Persian restaurant. We found one and it was absolutely amazing. The food was so delicious. The kids enjoyed the food too. Ask Kaila what her favorite part was and she'll tell you "the belly dancer." Yup, they had a belly dancer. It was so fun to watch her. It's amazing how she can move the way that she does. The kids got to give her a dollar that they stuck in the waist of her costume, but Isaac chickened out at the last minute and dad had to do it. Imagine how hard that had to be for him. Poor guy turned bright red. We really had a good time yesterday. Hope you are all doing well.
