I am attempting to create a blog with the hope that when we move to California, I can keep all of our friends and Family up dated on our adventures and daily life. Please bare with me as I try to learn the ways of this high tech society we are now in and try to create what is known as a blog. So with that being said, my journey begins...

Caught in the act...

Since we've been here, we've had little disturbances. It started with our garbage being scattered around, then holes in our garbage bags. We went out of our to make sure the garbage can lid closes,(we had assumed the crows were getting into our garbage)then we didn't seem to notice anything. So we assumed that we had taken care of the problem. Then the other night I was up late with Alyssa and heard a peculiar noise. I couldn't make out what it was at first, so I ignored it. Then it happened again and I thought one of the kids was making a weird noise, so I got up to investigate. The sound came again, but this time from the kitchen. As I walked in there the noises got louder and more constant, so I looked out the window and what did I see?...no, no popcorn, RACOONS. I'm wondering if we're really in CA. Deer right outside your door, wild turkey's, crows, coyotes, and even cougars, it's like where in the outback or something. The other night Ben went out to his truck to get something, and said he saw the racoons, then he saw deer right by the truck, so he waited. I said, "what were you waiting for?" He said, "the birds to come and sing. In Snow White that's what they do" LOL, I said, "here, you don't go out after dark, the cougars come out." We finally caught the little critters in action.(I should say Ben did, I was too scared to have them attack, so I didn't open the door. Thanks Babe.) So here they are, proof! Now we've solved this mystery. I'm sure with the way things are going here, it's only a matter of time before something else arises.

  1. If you look at that bottom pic. closely you can see that there are 2 racoons. One is airborne, and the other one is behind the first one. Ben said that second one is the one that fell down behind the garbage can when he scared them by opening the door. Apparently it was really funny.
